Integrative physiotherapy takes a broader view of health and recovery than traditional physiotherapy. While traditional physiotherapy often focuses on a specific injury, or painful area, integrative physiotherapy considers multiple body systems including posture, breathing, movement control, nervous system state, lifestyle, and recovery capacity.
At Lionheart, this means combining clinical assessment, movement rehabilitation, manual therapy, bodywork, and when appropriate, complementary approaches that support the physical, mental, emotional, and energetic aspects of health and wellbeing.

Remedial massage is a therapeutic form of bodywork that address specific areas of tension and restriction that contribute to pain and movement dysfunctions.
The therapist applies specific techniques such as; osteo pressure point release, craniosacral therapy, dorn spinal therapy & active release techniques to help improve circulation, restore mobility, and tissue recovery.Clients’ often seek remedial massage for chronic pain, postural dysfunction, sports-related tension, or repetitive overuse syndromes. It can help reduce protective muscle tone, improve range of motion, and promote circulation.
Within the Lionheart Integrative Care Model, remedial massage is part of a broader recovery process. In some cases, it prepares the body for movement & physical training by releasing tension that interferes with freedom of movement.
In others, it supports nervous system regulation alongside Reiki to facilitate greater energy balancing and deeper states of relaxation. -
Reiki is a form of energy healing that works through gentle hands-on or hands-off contact to support balance and coherence within the body’s energetic system.
Originating from Japanese healing traditions, Reiki is based on the understanding that the body is influenced not only by physical structures, but also by subtle energetic processes that affect how we feel, regulate stress, and repair.During a Reiki session, the practitioner works with light touch or proximity of the hands to support relaxation and the natural flow of energy through the body. Many people experience a deep sense of calm, warmth, or release as the nervous system settles and the body shifts toward a restorative state.
People often seek Reiki when experiencing emotional stress, fatigue, inner tension, or a sense of energetic stagnation. It can be particularly supportive for those navigating periods of change, burnout, or heightened life stress.
Within the Lionheart care model, Reiki is offered as a complementary modality that supports the broader process of recovery and regulation. While physiotherapy and movement practices address the structural and functional aspects of the body, energy healing can help people reconnect with a deeper sense of internal balance and presence, supporting the physical work happening through manual therapy, rehabilitation, and movement training.

Dynamic Neuromuscular Stability (DNS) is a rehabilitation approach from Prauge Rehab University based on developmental kinesiology, the natural movement patterns humans develop in early childhood.
DNS focuses on restoring breathing mechanics, postural stability, joint centration, and efficient movement control. It helps the body organise movement more effectively, reducing compensatory patterns that often contribute to pain, tension, and overload.
It is globally used by allied health professionals, personal trainers, strength and conditioning coaches in both rehabilitation and performance settings.
-
Our timetable integrates Dynamic Neuromuscular Stability (DNS), yoga, mobility training, primal and functional strength training, as well as meditative practices into one cohesive membership.
This approach is suitable for any individual seeking a more conscious, precise and integrated way to develop their movement efficiency, structural integrity and inner wellbeing, with a recognition of how body, mind and energy interact.
If you are unsure where to start or are managing pain or injury, begin with a Initial Physiotherapy session or an Integrative Health Assessment so we can guide you into the most appropriate class.
Some classes are more alignment focused, while others are more strength based, restorative, or energetic. Each class has its own emphasis, and we guide people toward the most appropriate starting point based on their needs and experience following an initial assessment.
